Purpose of stakeholder dialogue

  • Remaining attentive to needs and expectations in order to better understand environmental and social issues and respond to them in a collaborative way;
  • Strengthening the link between the business world and non-profits, for example by exploring new partnerships linked to sustainable development issues, notably human rights.

  • Participation in the creation of The Value of Beauty Alliance with six other players in the cosmetics industry;
  • Membership of the Fair Labor Association (FLA), a multi-stakeholder initiative bringing together universities, companies and civil society organisations to promote compliance with international labour standards in globalised value chains, especially in matters of human rights;
  • Commitment to adequate wages through the UN Global Compact's Forward Faster initiative, which aims to accelerate the achievement of sustainability goals;
  • Publication of the updated Human Rights Policy;
  • Membership of the International Chamber of Commerce Anti-Corruption Commission and of Transparency International France;
  • Founding member of the Fashion & Beauty community of SFC (Smart Freight Center) for the decarbonisation of product transport;
  • Member of the One Planet Business for Biodiversity (OP2B) coalition of international and cross-sector businesses dedicated to biodiversity.

  • Member of many industry bodies worldwide, including the French federation for beauty companies (Fédération des Entreprises de la Beauté), Cosmetics Europe, the European Brands Association, the World Federation of Advertisers, the United States Personal Care Products Council, China Association of Fragrance Flavour and Cosmetic Industries and the Cosmetic, Toiletry & Perfumery Association, alongside industry bodies centred around renewable carbon, such as the Bio-based Industries Consortium, Renewable Carbon Initiative and Change Chemistry;
  • Sponsor of the Union For Ethical BioTrade (UEBT);
  • Participation in major international institutional events, such as Climate Week NYC and the World Economic Forum's Davos summit;
  • Membership of the UN Global Compact;
  • Member of WFA (World Federation of Advertisers) and Mont Blanc Circle on matters relating to personal data protection.

  • More than 30,000 people logged on to Ethics Day sessions and more than 4,700 questions were submitted worldwide over the 60 sessions that were staged;
  • 90% of the employees invited took part in the annual “Pulse” engagement survey;
  • L'Oréal was recognised for the 16th time as one of the world's most ethical companies by the Ethisphere Institute;
  • At the Group's initiative, launch of the Engage & Care coalition with some 15 founding member companies striving for better social protection for employees worldwide. This involves promoting social innovation to find new solutions to today's social challenges, encouraging the sharing of knowledge and best practices between member companies to accelerate progress, and actively collaborating with external partners (institutions, NGOs, universities, etc.) to build a fairer and more sustainable world of work for all;
  • Sharing value creation: launch of the fifth employee share ownership plan to encourage Group employees to acquire L'Oréal shares and to involve them closely in the company's development;
  • Hosting Privacy Days on the theme of personal data protection and cybersecurity, with conferences, interactive games and events on campus.
